My manager suddenly treating me very badly and humiliating me in team meetings. Should I confront him?

The humiliation is to the point where my work is projected on the screen and others are asked to comment on whether or not it is ‘correct’ indirectly implying people to respond that it is not.

I work at a bullying-oriented company and have noticed that bullying tends to be same-gender. Male bosses only bully male subordinates; female bosses only bully other women.

I'm lucky to have a boss of the opposite sex.

  • Document everything. Keep a diary of what he said, when, and who else was there.

Don't tell anyone. Go talk to a lawyer. Do not tell anyone at work you talked to a lawyer.

@American Airlines. Yes, HR are there to cover the company's ass and that's why they must intervene in these situations. HR are trained to deal with these issues because they don't want any case to be escalated or to go to the court. From another point of view, filing a law suit for this small matter, then no company would hire the OP in the future because he/she skipped the HR stage. You need to be careful and wise not emotional and reckless.

Just curious how exactly does one document harassment if it happens in a meeting or conversation?

HR will act but you must have specific instances that violate company policy and leave the company open to a lawsuit. If you just go in complaining, they’ll not do much. Just google hostile work environment, if there are patterns of behavior and others are also being targeted, band together. My bully, crazy ass L7 at Amazon was termed within 8 weeks of my going to HR. They gave her time to find a job so she could “resign”. Haha. Going to HR absolutely works but know the law. If they don’t act get a letter from an employment lawyer. They do this all the time. This garbage is rampant, don’t just quit with your tail between your legs. Grow a spine, it feels amazing to finally have some peace and power back. Then you can quit.

NEVER go to HR. Consult a Lawyer if you want to fight it, otherwise, leave. HR is the devil.
