Crazy Amazon Interview experience

3d 109 Comments

I just went through Amazon interview loop for L5. One of the craziest experiences I ever had.

I was getting about 5 emails from Amazon recruiters every week and I decided to entertain one for Practice🤣.

Went through the Phone Screen. Was asked 1 question here - The easiest question I ever had to solve in any of the phone screens I ever had to take (A little more complex than a Hello World Program for reference).

A day after my Phone Screen recruiter asked me for my availability for Onsite.

A couple of days before my onsite this recruiter sent me an email from his personal Gmail account a few questions(SD and LC) that the Interviewers plan to ask me during the interview (I literally got the same questions - exact wording)šŸ˜†.

A few days after my onsite they gave me an offer which I promptly rejected(Was around 300k). I am pretty sure this was probably a hire to fire kind of a scenario.

Not sure if anyone else experienced this before. They are getting very desperate.

Most BRs ask the interviewers to share their questions during the pre-brief..I think the recruiter must have got it from there.

Wait what does that mean? "We input our questions ahead of time"

Attach a screen shot of the email. Remove. Personal information I want to see.

I m 100% confident you are lying. Prove me wrong. Because if the recruiter did this she/he is jeopardizing his/her job

Are you trolling? Because we don’t have questions bank or any communication between recruiter and interviewers.

Discussing coding questions in prebrief is a best practice especially on a pod where the blast radius is high for fuckups. If you’re not doing it, you’re not holding a high enough bar for excellence in the interview process. This is how you make sure fair questions are being asked, without too much overlap, no repeats, and that the interviewers can clearly articulate what they expect from the answer in terms of bar raising/meeting/lowering.

For my loops, BR will sometimes ask for interview questions ahead of time. I think its possible for a BR to inadvertently ask for the questions on a chain where the recruiter is CCed.

If this is true then I'm sure Amazon would like to fire this recruiter, they are just padding their own stats at the expense of Amazon's interview process.

Exactly intel. I’m sure this recruiter is currently being showered with praise and will be pegged for promo unless they get outed. They probably were close to getting fired before doing this
