Considering going onsite for an engineering role in SF. I like the product but curious to get your thoughts regarding their potential for IPO. Essentially I want to know if the stocks are just paper money.

What benefits do the founders get in an IPO other than raising cash for expansion. They make a lot and there are few competitors...
Employee happiness? Employees can just leave to another company if they aren’t happy with stock vesting? Exit opportunities for investors?
If I had to guess now I’d say IPO will happen in 2020. Things are lining up to be ready. But it’s all just a guess.

i feel they’d be better off being bought out than going public. Just doesn’t seem big enough to be a public company
Same could be said about OP's current company
They last reported 700 million in revenue and profitability. Seems like a solid company but interesting that there isn’t much discussion about IPO.
