I would pick crowdstrike as it has huge potential to grow in cyber security space. Also it depends on how much cash you need for monthly expenses. If 140k is not enough for your needs, go with akamai.

Not likely. Trend Micro is the lead cloud and endpoint security company globally. We just don't spend on marketing :) CS is doing well in theirs niches and in the US. We develop security products across numerous verticals. Personally enjoying developing first of it's kind security technology with some of the greatest minds in the industry here. If I move it wouldn't be to another security company. Trend is kinda like the Google of security, minus the $$ 😭
I came from a CDN company. CDN market is saturated. Look at EdgeCast. It was sold for only 1x of yearly revenue. They couldn't sell it to a bigger CDN company with typical 4-5x of revenue because the majority of their customer base overlaps with others, due to the multi-CDN strategy big companies use. Also, as others pointed out, all CDN companies are into cyber security now because they know their market is saturated and cannot grow anymore.
That make sense. Qq, does CS offer regular refresher ? Recruiter told me they do 40-50k yearly. Not sure if I could buy her words
I was told so, and I've seen many posts claiming so. I'm still new so I have not received any yet.
That is low for senior.. I dunno what else to tell ya. Typical senior offer is >300k in bay area, not sure how much cost of living factors in. I've seen SE2 and SE3 offers in that range for LCOL areas. That's Google L3 and L4.
This is SRE, not sure how this is aligned into SE2 and SE3. How is the WLB at CS ? Also do they offer the regular refresher ?
I don't think SRE gets any less than SWE. Not sure about refreshers, they're usually given out. This year will be different as the stock has gone down, I'm guessing there will be some additional compensation.
Your offer at crowdstrike should be higher. I got in at TC 220 at SDE II
Both CS and Akamai are in security domain. But Akamai is a more stable company and it is cash positive. Work life balance is excellent and people are very nice to work with. But their ops stack is very internal and and many are not open source. Maybe CS is a more modern company with latest tech stack.
Do they offer regular refresher ? And bonuses what they have committed to ?
Akamai gives bonus that is in your offer. Refresher is not guaranteed.
