Cruise Automation?
Anyone work here? Very good Glassdoor rating. How difficult are onsites for regular SWE? Do I have to know geometric algorithms?
If you want to work on the perception or planning teams, then geometric algorithms will be very helpful for your job, and also the interview. For other teams, the coding interview is similar to other startups, though knowing C++ is a plus.
I’m looking at mapping or ground truth. Are those similar to planning? Also what are your opinions about the workplace?
Geometric stuff is very important in mapping. Less so in ground truth, but still handy. Culture is good... Lots of smart people who want to solve hard problems. There is a good deal of pressure to move quickly.
I have been considering interviewing with Cruise and I find this very useful. I was wondering the compensation structure for a senior engineer having offers from FB And Google.
It seems increasingly hard for anyone to compete with FB offers. But it all comes down to your skills
Thanks, you're right! I am experienced in designing and developing large scale distributed systems(C++), are there any specific roles which focuses on Distributed systems at Cruise? Also, I'm very interested in autonomous driving, do you think my experience would be considered if I switch to autonomous driving role?
What kind of compensation do you guys get at Waymo, Uber (AV only), and Cruise?

Oh I was referring to the fact that Uber was ranked highly on getting something to market earlier. Not so much these days.
