Which would you choose between the two? Both for Software Engineer, both teams are at par. TC ~220k. Also does Cruise sponsor H1Bs?
Why comps are so low? In the below thread they are stating average SWE TC to be >=400 K per year https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17286939 Are you getting lowballed ?
I don't think all companies give a TC of 400 k unless you are at senior levels. Sure, there would be a few outliers.
Feels like I'm the only one here making 160 base, while everyone else is 400-500-800-1mln TC
Yes we sponsor H1-Bs
Thanks
You have an offer from Cruise and you don’t know if they sponsor H1b.
People can work in the US on other forms of visas before getting an H1B. I was just checking if I can go down the H1B way with Cruise.
Cruise. Better work-life balance and cool product. Whatever you want to do at Amazon you can likely do at cruise too. Also you can continue negotiating
Thanks. How easy is it switch teams inside Cruise? Is it a separate interview process for every team to move internally?
It’s fairly easy. There is no official process, you just talk to new manager and your manager
What's the annual bonus and refresher like at Cruise? OP, note that you'll get next to nothing at Amazon initially, and also till the stock keeps rising. Also note the stepped vesting schedule.
There is no point in joining, if you are not passionate about the technology that is being developed. That should be your deciding criteria.
Cruise. We make a baller product and you’re getting into AV before it explodes in prestige on a grander scale.
Can anyone comment on how refreshers work at Cruise?
Currently refreshers only happen when you are promoted up a level. Base increases and performance bonuses also exist.
Locations?
Amazon is Seattle.
