Please help evaluate GM Cruise offer. Associate Machine Learning Engineer Base: 170k + 34k bonus RSU: $110k (over 4 years) YOE: 2 years before MS and 8 months as an intern post-MS. How to provide data points for negotiation? #compensation #cruise #cruiseautomation #waymo #zoox
This is for the associate level
Associate ML and 170k base? That’s pretty good. Why do you think it’s low? @moonnn
The RSUs seem low.
Yeah cruise is cash heavy. You can probably get more stock or shift things around
The TC is ~ google L4. I don’t think it’s low when taking into consideration TC. Only if it’s ML specific- I don’t know about that.
This is a strong offer for associate level in terms of TC. The base is really good while the RSU is below average. You can ask for more RSU and sign on
The recruiter didn't mention anything about the sign on. Should/How do I ask for one specifically?
Yes. Push for sign on. Worst case scenario they will deny your request. It is easier to get if you have competing offer
How does the post interview process work at Cruise? Do they send an standard email for rejection or the recruiter will schedule a call to tell not hired?
34k bonus per year?
Hey OP congrats on the offer. I have an onsite coming up soon. Can I dm you for some questions?

If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
why is this so slow, I heard Cruise pays good money compared to other AV companies.
So low?!? That’s a new grad offer over $200k. How’s it low?
Yea some imposter! He doesn’t even understand numbers I guess.
