I am a L6 Product Manager at FB (was at Yelp). A recruiter reached out for a role at Cruise. It seems like an interesting area to work on. Are they competitive with total compensation of FB? Do they give pre ipo stocks or gm stocks?
Got pinged for the same. It’s true
Is it a TPM role or PM? Did the recruiter say which team or product the role is for?
I said product manager. Why would I become a tpm after having been a product manager?!?
Just to add to confusion there are also product manager technical roles for some data and infra teams. This might be what recruiter reached out about.
I am interviewing with them as well :)
GM stocks, go for it.
It has been basically flat for the last 5 years. Doesn’t seem to have a lot of growth
Still better than yelp over the last 5 years I guess
We are hiring senior PM roles, product team is really good, I used to work at FB and get paid more at Cruise. New hires get the new Cruise stake and cash.
Cruise paper money for new hires
We pay very well, but over 500k tc seems extremely high unless you are factoring in stock appreciation there. I honestly have no idea about pm, but equivalent eng TC for l5 would be in the 350k range.
Anyway, if you're concerned about it it wouldn't hurt to ask the recruiter straight up and share your current comp, they will be honest with you.
Cruise is paying top of market, but the new equity packages are still shaking out after the SoftBank deal
Anybody know what the interview process is like for a senior pm or senior technical product manager?
Phone interview, onsite, offer
What level of a staff level? L5 or L6 at Cruise.
I don't think they are hiring at senior pm roles. Check with the recruiter on this.
Recruiter said it is a senior role in the LinkedIn message
