Current TC $230k, 5 YOE Cruise offer: $160 base, 50k bonus, $180k RSU (over 4 years) Similar roles in hardware. Thoughts on Cruise RSU value and chances of IPO?
How many companies have worst ratings than Cruise on Blind or Glassdoor?
GOTEM
I’m curious, how many?
Milk it somewhere for more tc, together HW can get paid more!! Go HW!!
No
Is low overall, which level, team and division?
Hardware team - can’t get too specific. How does this compare to velodyne? I got offer from them a few years ago and it was super low - might be higher now bc its public? I think i got like $40k(over 4 yrs) RSU offer
Can’t comment on Velodyne, but the offer I was presented by Cruise was higher
It seems IPO riches is the main motivation. Otherwise this is hardly enough to jump. Apply other places perhaps NVIDIA?
Yeah main motivation would be chasing IPO potential. Also getting reallly bored with work at Apple. I think apple is just too corporate for me. More mech E, so NVIDIA may not have alot of opportunity
IPO potential has risk too. What if the bubble pops and the stock is worthless
What role is this?
What type of HW role is it? Niche/unique or typical ME/EE type? If it's unique then certainly you should ask/get a little more imho.
Not a significant jump for the move. Also, read about their growth prospects. I have read toxic culture in the company reviews.
Literally everyone I've met or know there has told me it's a dumpster fire. Even some random dude that works there that I met on the chairlift during covid told me that.
Same. I have a few colleagues from Apple who moved there and while some parts are better, it’s worse overall.

Question about women in their 30’s?
seems less than your current TC, why are you even considering? At 5 years yoe you should also ask for senior imo. I can't really speak for Hardware, but for Software this seems pretty low, even at Cruise
The offer isn’t lower than their current comp. Divide 180k over 4 years=45k per year. The TC would be 255k.
oh right, sorry somehow I read the bonus as signing bonus. should get some sleep 😅
