Laid off during the layoffs season recently. Applied to 300+ roles. I’ve cleared the loop at 3 places. However employers are adding round over round i.e additional behavioral round, presentation, case study etc And even after that I am being told there could be more rounds of interviews. The competition in the market is very fierce. Suggestions to the folks who are not laid off. Don’t interview right now. This is probably not the best time. #productmanagement TC-$0.0
YOE?
I’ve experienced this in the past with certain employers, including Quantum Metric and a startup in Texas that had 12 rounds for an interview. Sadly, in an employer’s market, companies believe running candidates through the ringer is somehow to going to get them FAANG level talent. It’s amazing how our incompetent government can shell out millions of dollars to Ukraine for a useless war and yet refuses to address the drastic issue of underemployment and company exploitation in our society. I know
i’m sitting at 53 interviews completed since mid jan with 1 offer so far 🥴 it’s exhausting but i hope it’s over soon
What was wrong with your offer?
it sucks. hoping for 2 more before it expires. i’ll take it rather than staying laid off but would keep looking
Employers be like this
Extra rounds just mean you didn't do extremely well.
It’s a fact that the more you interview someone the less you’re going to like them.
