After working in Amazon for almost 7 years, I were given Needs improvement rating(not PIP) last year. When asked for reason, manager gave "the number of code changes I made is less then others in the team". That is true as I took sometime off to take care of my new born. But, I was surprised that after working for so much time in the company, they didn't care even a little about my personal life. If the company is a startup, I can totally understand as they will have financial limitations. But, I didn't expect this from a tech giant like Amazon.
Anyway, this gave enough motivation to me for moving out of Amazon to another tech giant with almost 50% hike.
