Have three on-sites lined up with three companies: Uber eats (NYC), Rebellion Defense (DC) and UIPath (NYC). Rebellion Defense just had a Series B @ 1 billion and they are growing like crazy, i really like the emphasis on ML and the leadership. Eric Schmidt is on the board and an investor as well. I also think they work on really interesting stuff that actually adds a ton of value but the pay is lower than the others. Uber by far pays the best but it is on Uber eats ads which is kind of boring. I dont know much about UIpath or the role. Would i be an actual moron to turn down Uber for Rebellion? Uber (From Levels): Salary: 170k Stock: 104k per year Bonus: 24k TC: ~ 300k UIpath (From Levels): Salary: 155k Stock: 83k per year Bonus: 47k TC: ~ 284k Rebellion Defense: Salary: 135-150k Stock: Options (Not sure how much) Bonus: 5-10k TC: ? TC: 120k (In Dallas) YOE: 3 years
Get offers first
You can be choosy once you get the offers
This. I'm interviewing with 6 companies rn, would be happy with 2 offers to negotiate amongst each other
Did you ever end up getting an offer?
I have all three coming up in the next 10 days. Was on vacation until last week :/
That's okay! I've just interviewed with that defense contractor and I was curious how it went for you.
What does the “bonus” part include? Is it the one-time sign-on or the perf linked annual max bonus??
Recruiter said there could be an annual bonus and signing bonus
You need to ask for the split between the two in order to really make an apples to apples comparison. The annual bonus is always the “max” you might get if the company had a solid year, your performance was top notch and your manager put you in the top bracket for that year. There are no guarantees for any of that, so I tend to split the annual perf linked bonus out and compare the rest. It seems if you do so, UiPath is already ahead. The remaining component (stock) comes down to the vesting schedule and how liquid they will be. I’d suggest evaluating that and then formulate a holistic view of each offer. Your third offer isn’t even complete in that sense so not sure about that one.
