DC or Seattle?

Would you keep a mediocrely satisfying job in Seattle or take a role with more responsibilities/excitement in DC? I have friends and a community here, whereas would have to start fresh out there. Last time I was in the east coast, I hated it. And never succeeded in making friends before I left. Definitely more a west coast person. But, doing a boring job for life and letting go of ambition feels like... giving up.

Move to DC. It's awesome having a great job and explore a new place, maybe come back to West coast in couple of years with a fatter comp

Well both locations are pretty depressing .. but if the role in DC is exciting and more responsibilities .. does that mean more money? I say go with the upping your career .. you can always make friends and such in time in DC ..

I am also more of a West Coast person, but have found success finding friends through work and the tech community here in DC. The tech community is really close-knit, open, and friendly. DM me if you’d like to ask any specific questions on places to live, etc.
