Dear Community,

Why do I see many people not listing their school graduation year? (BS MS, etc)

Is that on purpose so they don’t get judged by the YoE?

What other benefits are there for not listing their graduated years?

Thanks

I did it to try to remove bias. When I was young I didn't want people to judge me based on my YOE. Now that I'm old I don't want to be skipped over because of my age. I do have the date on my Masters because it was midcareer.

I hid my graduation year while to imply more YoE. Started doing this after hunting for my second job out of college. Internships and the job i held through HS/College made me an undercover 23 year old with 7 years of work experience. That made my resume pass the initial filters and left it to me to sell myself in interviews.

I see, thank you guys for sharing the info. I see someone who is really young (<35) and already made it to Head of Product (of a group)at Facebook (with every 9-18 months jump on the previous jobs) and the person hides all the graduation dates for the education background so I wasn't sure what the info needed to be hidden
