Interviewed and the team was nice.
Everyone seemed friendly and interview was a good experience with some really good questions(I am in HW).
I end up getting verbal offer and then I request a final session with HM.
It was a short 15 min call ..
I asked about the mandatory URA and new hires.
I told HM that I have been through multiple companies and have always been rated very high, I will perform but I donโ€™t want undue pressure from day 1.
I have a family and value WLB.
HM said yeah WLB is good, donโ€™t worry.

Itโ€™s been 3 days now and now thereโ€™s complete radio silence from Amazon recruiter.
Bullet dodged?

  • Dude why Amazon? Its literally a culture based on throwing people under the bus. Verbal assurances doesnt mean shit.

Get it in writing. Although AWS will never give you a employment contract so the managers words are worthless. Have him back it up but he will not. Do not waste your time with AWS. AWS will PIP you in a heartbeat

Lol. Amazon doesnโ€™t need people who want good wlb and no pressure at work.

Yeah probably I was expecting something that HM canโ€™t promise .. but I find it unfair that people are put under performance pressure right away. With family and kids itโ€™s hard to grind day in and out.

I completely agree with you. I am in a similar boat and would never consider Lab126 in its current state (the low pay also doesn't help)

Appreciate your frankness. You are not a slave and did the correct thing. In an ideal scenario, they should get back to you soon. Worst case, if they reject you it means that they think you are more concerned about wlb and they won't be able to force u to work after hours. In a way, it would be a blessing in disguise for you. You are in a WIN Win. Stay optimistic.
