Hi! I keep seeing here that the base salary for a new PhD grad process engineer at Intel should be at ~110-120k in Hillsboro, but looking at h1bdata.com for 2021, it seems like it's more of ~98k.

Is this the case that there's a difference in the offers for internationals and US persons?

TC: 30k (PhD student)

As a recent Master’s grad, I had an offer for Hillsboro with base pay 102k so you can expect at least 120-135k as a PhD grad

It depends on your grade level. As a PhD it will be more like 110-130k. Masters get closer to 98k. H1B doesn't make a difference.

There is supposed to be no difference in offers between US and non US based employees. However at Rinker Acres, it used to be that more was expected out of H1Bs. If they didn't work hard enough they would end up on a CAP. However, things have changed under Gelsinger and they don't work you to death like they used to.

So is the base of 98k in h1bdata.com accurate for both US and non-US process engineers? I was just surprised that it is lower than what people on Blind are saying.

Expect 125k base as new PhD grad. No differences between h1b and not.

Pay structure is not dependent on H1B. It’s basically by grade. Master students generally come in as grade 5 and PhD grade 6/7. Another factor to consider is location. Your TC is dependent on these factors and not H1-B
