Currently in offer stages at Apple. Verbal offer was 160k, 105k in stock, 40k sign on(recruiter was trying to get me to join 2 weeks before one year vesting date at current startup and said the 40k was intended to payout the equivalent). Expecting to hear verbal offers from Google and appdynamics this week. 1. Is this a fair offer? What should I push for, if not 2. Do I have leverage in negotiating even though I've already pushed the recruiter to move the start date back(he keeps talking like I am making his life a living hell and that he wants to close the deal asap)
What tools do you primarily work with?
Python, sql, bash... And all of the ever changing big data technologies (hadoop, spark, etc.)
Hard to judge fair offer without your YOE. But not letting someone wait 2 weeks to get 1 year of vesting sounds like some bullshit recruiter salesman talk
Lol he said if I push my start date out, should I forfeit the sign on bonus? I was like you can do that, but I'll evaluate it against my other offers accordingly. He let's out another sigh and goes "Apple is a spaceship that's taking off!"
Apple HRs are real jerks !!!
good to wait for vesting date in current company and tell recruiter that i have deployment of my project in 3 weeks i’m responsible for it and don’t want to leave it in the last stage !!
Could you elaborate on the questions they asked? Was it a a lot of SQL and data modeling or leetcode/Sys Design ? Did google ask a lot about there toolset?
+1 what did they asked for google data engineer ? More on LC ? or no LC ?
It was a scenario based problem, which lead to a Python question. Very light on data modeling, and sql
So TC of 225k?Seems solid
What type of python questions were asked? String manipulation? Load csv files ?
Thanks!
Which location ?
Congratulations! what’s the position at google is that application data engineer or SWE Yoe ?
