Assume you are currently a SQL-heavy (analytics) data scientist and you can choose any of these next steps. Which do you take?
Never go back to school. Switch to DS manager or PM.
Why not
It just puts you behind. You're considered new grad again after 4-5 years of phd. With %90 chance you get your current level and salary, onle market/inflation adjusted.
None of these. Go for principal DS unless you want to be a manager. I don’t recommend going back to school unless that is your thing
I am a data analyst, so it's very heavy SQL, but I guess data scientists would actually have more technical work like making models.
