Just passed the phone screen. Any advice for sharpening up before my 1st round interview? How much time should I take to prepare? I’m best with R and can choose between R, Python and SQL so I figure I’ll do R. I have been using R since 2016 so I’m pretty comfortable with it, but I figure their could be some tricky stuff. I don’t use loops regulary or write functions often. I mainly use ggplot2, data.table, lubridate and a bunch of ml libraries. What should TC look like? currently an associate data scientist focused on ml. 3 yoe. TC: 64500
Base at FB in Bay Area should be at least 120k, and TC she be hitting close to 140-165 depending on RSU and bonus.
That seems low. What level are we talking about? Does a DS and SWE pay really differ that much?
If you're at Ecolab I'll assume you're MN based? The market salary for your experience in the Twin Cities is $85-$115K, assuming you're a decent programmer.
Dramatically underpaid. Turned down an offer for 93k base to gain leverage to get my dream job. Still shit pay.
Also programming skill isn’t as important in my current role. You are awarded for designing, building, driving adoption, then finally driving business results. It doesn’t matter how well built the solution is if it doesn’t make or save money.

TC should be at least 130k+ for you. Anything less is a low ball
TC at FB or in general?
