$10k a month for an intern sounds insane. It is called an internship for a reason - a limited engagement to provide meaningful contribution to a bite sized project before they can embark up on a career. $10k a month puts roughly same as IC3 wages. Those who are arguing for a minimum of $10k pm can you explain your reasoning and which companies offer that. Have you secured an internship before or have hired interns for what you quoted ? If you didn't please don't throw random numbers and set the wrong expectations for OP.

Should be atleast the industry standard of 4k-6K a month. But, As an intern if your focus is on $$ rather than work, your priorities are in wrong place.
Thanks! The focus is definitely on the work, but it never hurts to ask for what one deserves.
I've never seen anyone negotiate intern salaries. You get what you are offered or you walk. So interview in many places and get the best offer, in terms of comp, project and prospects.
