Just wondering the range of TC out there and what's the potential, seeing as how paysa and glassdoor report way different numbers. My manager (VP) mentioned he sees me as a Senior/Lead, which isn't on paper atm unfortunately, so the comp info would be useful for when reviews come Current TC: ~135 (130 base), startup No annual performance bonus 4 yoe in analytics, 2 as a DS Education: B.S, M.S, both in engineering fields, both ivy The role is very generalist (some etl, some modeling, some machine learning, some NLP, some project management, some people management stuff). In my free time I've taken a bunch of AI/ML courses and a couple dev courses, so shooting for ML engineer is within the realm of possibility given 3-6 months of dedication. To my knowledge, ML engineer would be more lucrative. But also wondering what's the long-run potential of the more "business" side DS (analytics manager, for example)
Also wonder if it is possible to get machine learning engineer with data engineering background?

Depends on the company, definition of DS, what they do and compensation varies a lot between company to company.
