Do you pilfer food from the office and take home?
I am very tired when I get home after work. Can’t do anything useful at home. I tried getting out of work at 5PM, 4PM and even 3PM, but still tired. On the contrary, if I stay at work, I’ll be super productive till 6. Anyone else feels the same? What do you do to keep your energy up during evening?
I’ve found that doing cardio fasted in the early AM gets my energy up for the rest of the day.
Cardio fasted ?
You mean on an empty stomach?
Same here, OP. Napping only makes it worse for me.
Trying taking a nap after work maybe? Some people feel even worse after that though. One thing that helps me to be productive in the evening is to have a plan. If I come home, sit on the sofa, turn on Netflix, I would be way too relaxed to do anything. Also sofa makes me sleepy, so can’t do anything except watching movies. But if I don’t sit down on the sofa, but quickly eat something light, and then have a plan of what I’m going to do: gym, walk, return a purchase from Amazon, leetcode, then I kinda don’t have time to ask myself whether or not I have energy to do anything :) I feel like it’s best not to have the choice, not to think in the evening “what do I want to do”, because the response would be “nothing”. And I do feel like I have more energy this way and not as sleepy. Not sure if it would help you but something that worked for me!
Same here. I started to leave work earlier and to take a 30 minute nap once I get home. It is helping.
Are you happy with your work? I’ve found that when it happens to me it’s an early sign of an incoming period of a burn out.
Stop working so hard at work. If you can’t, drink coffee when you get home. Or maybe you dislike your personal life and your work is the only reason you’re motivated. I’m not a doctor though.
I don't recommend drinking coffee in the evening. Might ruin sleep cycle and make the problem worse.
Feel free to PM me if you guys have questions on turning it around. I wake up daily at 4:30-5 and I feel very refreshed throughout the whole day and do LC before and after work and get very excited to do the problems while still having time to get 2 hours of gym time in (including commute and shower) and also cooking healthy meals.
While working at Amazon? What a mythical creature
And yet you have time for blind? 🤔🤔 How much sleep do you get?
