I have a teammate, mid level engineer. Helpful and in good books of manager. He has a tendency to be bossy, even though I am another mid level engineer. He has been in the same team a couple of years before me. He behaves with me in a way to make me feel I am junior than him. In front of everyone, he keeps telling me what to do and what not to do, even about the things I know. He is not technically superior but has better debating skills. How to deal with this situation?
Maybe tell him to stop being so bossy?
Never go head on in an argument with him.

Do the same thing. Welcome to the dog eat dog world or corporate America
Have you talked to you manager about this? Good opportunity to actually use 360 process for what it was intended for here
I’ve been there. Does this person supervise you? If not, start standing up for yourself (while still being diplomatic) and/or limit your time with this person as much as possible. Does anyone feel the same way you do about this person? Build alliances with those people and the bully will eventually stop.
Why are you ceding authority to this person? A peer can’t tell you want to do unless you let them. You should have a conversation with your manager. This sounds more like bullying than anything else.
Who cares. Ignore him. What's he going to do, fire you? Authority comes from either ranking or respect, sounds like he has neither.
I mean that’s just “raising the ranks of corporate America 101” sadly
