Just curious how much percentage hike in base and annual bonus one gets on internal promotion from Software Engg 2 to Senior Software Engg in Dell EMC. Is their a range ?
Is 10k increase in base or total (base + bonus)
There is no set standard. I would expect a standard offer of about 10% increase in total compensation. However leverage sites like Glassdoor to review your pay and decided if it's time to try to negotiate more.
Kind of late now though right? Everything has been submitted and is basically in the hands of HR from my understanding. Unless you want to try to get an out of cycle promoor raise
Depends on the type of promotion. If it's just part of the annual process, then yes it's likely too late. If it's a true promotion that came with an offer letter that hasn't been signed then there is still time.
Okay. Why does everyone say Dell EMC employees work so little? I'm almost always working more than 40 hours I'm working until midnight to 2am several nights week. And I make chump change compared to most of you (I6 71k) What do you all do to not get fired if you work 2-4 hours a day? Or are these just words of bitter former employees?
The joy of a lot of Dell EMC (where I actually work) jobs is it's all results based. If you work 10 hours a week but get your job done no one cares. If it takes you 60 hours, again no biggie. Also we have jobs that there is ALWAYS something to do. If you want to try to tackle it all, then be my guest but you will likely be the first to burn out. You have to find that happy medium.
I work in storage there and you can literally sandbag fixes and code so easily. Work a day or two and take the rest of the week off.. many people always bored trying to stay busy.. Covid helps this
I think 10% is standard for a comp raise with your promotion. But we should all find out in a week or two what we're getting for raises and promotions.
Isn’t 10% too low as an increment. Looks like other companies have good increment bands and refreshers.
It's just their standard offer they usually present. It's my understanding there are no fixed rules about it but if you want more than 10% you usually have to get VP approval
Depends, if is through a req, can be up to 40% (from personal exp)
Any idea what’s the highest range in TC a senior software Engg can go in Dell EMC

10k salary increase.
10k seems very mediocre.
Yes and Dell EMC is a mediocre company. Where most people only work 2-4 hours a day. Very relax environment. Enjoy the good life, I missed it.
