I accepted offer with Deloitte, They gave 23th Aug as the start date. I resigned with my current employer(cognizant) 20th Aug as last date. On 20th got an email from Deloitte saying my start date is pushed to Aug 30th as my background investigation is pending. (There was a case on my name which is pending, I came to USA on 2014 since then the case is pending). In my background investigation it came up and I responded accordingly. Now, on 30th Aug I got an email from Deloitte saying start date is again pushed to Sep 13th and mentioned to return the laptop. My lawyer from India took a stay against the case in High Court. I forwarded the case documents to Deloitte team. After all I got a response is âThe document confirms that the petition has been filed, but this remains an open/pending matter.â What am I supposed to do now, I am jobless from August 23rd and mainly my h1b is transferred approved with Deloitte. Any thoughts and suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you all. #deloitte #cognizant
Something similar happened with a friend, he illegally left TCS during an onsite in the US his background checks failed at Oracle, he then got a job at JMPC
Don't want to say as this is a trying time for you. But it is more for others to remember that never give notice till background check is all clear. I just went through this process with recruiter where I stood my ground and said till you confirm all clear I am not going to give notice at current employer. Hopefully all works out for you. Good luck with everything.
Good point, i would have never thought of that
OP did your background check clear
Wait, so pending employment verification background check is going on, Deloitte initially sent you a work laptop but asked to you return them?(after 2nd delays)
I received Deloitte laptop before first start date which is August 20th. After pushed it for the second time they mentioned to return the laptop.
OP you mentioned you are talking with your lawyer right? I think you are doing the right thing here, but is there a reason you might be flagged during the background check?
