Deloitte bait and switch

Spent lots of time interviewing and traveling for a Specialist Master position only to later be offered the lower Specialist Senior position and a lower salary. Anyone else had Deloitte trick you like this? This type of practice is often an indicator of how you will be treated after hired, so I ran.

Good identifying the poor behavior early on.

Dunno. This might be an indicator of how you presented yourself. You apply for the job, on paper everyone is like could be a master. You go through the process and the hiring manager is like well we liked them but not sure if they are master level, let’s still make an offer. Happens all the time.

Wouldn't say all the time but definitely possible.

A low-ball like that is a "thanks, but no thanks" any way you slice it.

Maybe they thought you were a good fit but not as senior as you think you are

Deloitte 🤮

It only means they considered your interview performance, your experience/skills and offered you something they are comfortable with. Now its entirely your call whether to accept the new role and TC and if it's better than what you are currently doing. There is nothing personal about this. I can see this happening on few instances so just take the offer on it's merit.

Does it mean they will offer you a higher position if they found that you can take higher responsibility?

After the interviews people who interview you get together and discuss what role you should come in as based on your experience and how you presented yourself. Its not personal. You should decline the offer if you feel its not the correct position
