I had my final virtual interview with an "Advisory Managing Director" for a new grad position in the cyber risk division.
Overall, the interview went well; to my surprise, the interviewer didn't take any notes and only asked 3 behavioral questions. I felt like this interview was done more out of formality... the 2 on-campus interviewers did take notes though. Should I interpret this as a good sign? I emailed the director after to express thanks and got a reply back that "It was nice speaking to you and good luck in your job search." The director also looked exhausted (probably b/c he was doing interviews all day).
Is the hiring process behind the scenes more about team matching/skills? Does the director interview matter?
- Deloitte IVhsy625bFrom my experience, you need approval from a PPMD before your offer goes through (this is for consulting, not sure about advisory). So it could be that your on-campus interviewers really liked you and that your MD interview was just a formality, but the MD's word is the final word in terms of if you receive the offer
- Deloitte XRot48I would suggest not looking into his words so much, our guess is just as good as yours. He might mean something totally different, the only thing you can do is wait
