I've been working in tech/gaming for about 10 years now. Went from being an artist to Product designer/illustrator. Got locked into a low salary due to my willingness to switch to product design. Let's be real, I make $75k but I know designers make much more than that. I've stuck around at my current company bc of how flex they are with me being a mom and needing to work from home sometimes, although I wish I could just be remote since my commute is pretty far. Would love more info about average design salaries, and other places that are great for parents Location SF
Agree $75k for 10 years of experience in the Bay Area is selling yourself short, although it depends on the quality of your work too obviously.. At our company, everyone work from home on Fridays, and are cool with wfh other days of the week as well if you manage your responsibilities. Unlimited PTO, same comment about being responsible. I also have about 10 yrs of experience at this point, last 3 in a more senior/lead design role, currently making 133k. I know friends at other places bringing in more though. When I first got to the Bay Area 5 yrs ago fresh out of grad school as a product designer I was at 80k.
Yeah I knew I was quite low for my experience. Originally I took it as a job to learn more about product design, but 3 years later I'm still in the same range even with raises.
Come to Salesforce!! Lots of good work-life balance and you will definitely make 6 figures.
Not a parent, 95k w 5 years experience. From what I hear, Lyft is very parent-friendly. Hit me up if you're looking to make a move :)
Want! I make same thing and about same experience... I just wanna leave snap lol...
You’re grossly undercompensated
Not a good endorsement for yelp
Putting your location would be helpful. 75k is poverty in SF, but good in Arizona
