I'm curious about how DevOps interview differs from SRE interview at Apple? Can anyone describe main topics the candidate should concentrate when prepares both to phone and onsite interview? Also would be interesting to know more about difference in coding questions between software development position and DevOps/SRE.
Remember DevOps is a culture, so be certain you know the focus of a particular companies ideas around DevOps. SRE generally deal with uptime and monitoring. In my world, DevOps is more full stack engineer, as we all code, and we know operations, as well as security. Best of luck, mate.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
DevOps is great for generalists. I work with people who used to be SWEs as well as long-time classic sysadmins who’ve taken up coding. For a DevOps interview, there will be less focus on algorithms/leetcode and more on systems automation, deployment management, and gluing existing tools together. Think python/ruby/go instead of ObjC/Swift. You should know troubleshooting Linux very well, as well as have a strong understanding of internal protocols.
