Any devs from the denver area? Seeing a lot from the coasts buy curious on the spread on the app. I work for a startup doing GIS and data management in downtown denver. Aurelia front end with a Microsoft stack for backend.
I know a lot
care to name a few of the companies they work for?
I'm just curious on the movement of this app. I know Denver is good for dev jobs but haven't heard much on here. salary isn't close to west coast, but cost of living is decent here
just joined up; I don't think a lot of companies in Denver were available to the app until recently.
Yeah that's for sure. hopefully it will spread. Interested in the market here from others perspective. what's your position and whatnot?
software engineer. hopped around some smaller companies (plenty of them in Denver) before ending up at Nordstrom. you?
ha! didn't notice the op! GIS for you. most of our new stuff is .net / netcore with some node. moving a lot to AWS. lots of legacy in lots of languages, so the end result is still pretty polyglot.
I'm at a startup in Denver ask me anything and I'll do my best to answer
What's the startup name? what's the culture & working conditions like?
what does your startup do or your role? good to see more denver people. I'm commuting from johnstown up north
we write camping management software. pretty much everything to do with running a campground. I'm a full stack developer on a team of 12 people
hey there. Ive always had a passion for software development and have finally decided recently to make the transition as in, no experience, learning from ground zero.. to put lightly, I'm extremely overwhelmed. I just signed up for code acedemy to get me started and have done hours of online searches but would really like to find a group or recommendation for people in my position trying to make their way in.. I work in DTC and would love to gain some networking.. any paths for local advice, groups, etc is extremely appreciated. cheers, Michael
Denver is great. Definitely trying to be the premiere tech center between the coasts. I'd move there in a heartbeat if there was an opportunity to transfer. Prefer it 100% over Austin. People interested should request a Denver topic.
