Found this gem on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/cscareerquestions/comments/jot86b/there_is_nothing_wrong_with_grinding_to_get_into/ First gen college student joins Google in 2019 with TC of 200k. He's flexing real hard on everyone that didnt join FAANG (including his older sister). Checked his post history and he is also an incel. How did someone like him pass the behavioral interview?
I feel like types of people are the ones that burn out quickly.
Didn’t know people used the term incel non-ironically
Dig deeper into the internet, and you shall find many interesting and odd things.
I always thought that it’s the core of G’s workforce, lol. Google is basically like your mom - feeds you, cuts your hair, washes your laundry, arranges social life in some way, etc
This idiot will be on here in 18 months complaining that he can't get promoted
He already got promoted lol
So he says. I don't doubt that he works for Google but I do doubt he's doing as well as he claims. People like that tend to inflate their own achievements to justify their worth to others. It's more likely he's still no where close to a promo and his manager has probably noticed his toxic attitude. Covid may have done him a favor with the latter part due to less social interaction with coworkers.
Cscareerquestions is an incredibly toxic subreddit. I used to post there to answer questions as a leader. But it's an echo chamber. I noted that some behavior that the larger group thought was just super wouldn't be acceptance and the kiddies freaked out.
I agree, however it is ironic saying that on Blind lol
i like Blind more though, because you have to have worked to be here. cscq is full of students that post garbage advice.
There’s barely a behavioral component in the interview, besides just making sure the person doesn’t suck ass during their coding/algo rounds Not sure what test you think exists that would catch that persons faults
When I interviewed at Google it really seemed that all they cared about was the LC. I doubt that the behavioral round really mattered. They just want a coding cog they can stick in the machine.
Yeah I sometimes feel the same way tho. Lots of my friends are focused on not-money stuff, but I’m a bit confused when they also complain about not getting healthcare, they feel unappreciated etc. but going for a corporate ladder can help with that a lot starting out. I guess maybe they’re doing things they really enjoy, so that’s a plus, but I think they also really downplay the life benefits (financial, health, stability, happiness) of having a career where you get paid a lot and have time for hobbies.
Lol get to google india... you'll be surprised
he’s flexing 200k but tbh lot of ppl who don’t go to college and pick up a skill (electrician, plumbing, etc) make more than that. u should not flex a corporate job ever imo
A plumber making 200k is in the top 1% of plumbers so not sure what your point is. If you’re saying that’s not impressive, I’d disagree and say reaching the top 1% of ur field (whatever it is) is pretty good.
my point is there are many other occupations that would’ve paid the same or more. I don’t see them need to flex on reddit. The poster should be more humble

As long as you have some basic common sense and play by PC rules, anyone can pass it. It’s a perfunctory process designed to weed out those who won’t keep quiet about their non PC thoughts and thus bring potential lawsuits to the company.
PC? New here
Politically Correct, not a Blind term lol
