Did I accept the wrong offer?

Recently accepted a new grad SE position at Microsoft with Azure’s Commerce + Ecosystems. After reading through some posts here it seems to have a really bad reputation. My only other offer was from AWS(Route 53) but I heard terrible things about their wlb. Compensation was similar, so what does blind think?

Don't take everything on Blind too literally. There is a good about of "full of shit" around here.

Worked at both. MS is better for humans, amazon is better for robots.

He is a new grad and Amazon is good learning hub for new grad. He/she can come to MSFT when he has other things in life. Blind should recommend Facebook & Amazon for new grads, let them work & learn at least for starting few years in life & see the worst so later they can appreciate life.

@Koala is right. OP join the hordes of new grads that Amazon chews up and throws out. Get the experience and then move on.

It's somewhat true that Amazon can have a bad WLB, kkdl - though there are plenty of teams with great WLB at Amazon too. Consensus is that it depends on your manager (which is the fault of Amazon leadership imo). Though did you accept the wrong offer? No, lmao, both can be great companies to work for and both AWS and Azure do interesting things. Your job alone will not define the entirety of your growth as an engineer in your first few years.

There are things called LP in amazon. This is something that makes the culture so toxic. People use the LP terms to argue and make their point stand out abd everyones arguments and reasons get shutdown. In reality the LP helps company to prosper but not so much for creating a healthy working environment.
