As he is replacing Diane Green as GCP head, what does it say about prospects of Oracls as company as such?
Some context for other readers: Diane Greene became head of Google’s cloud three years ago after her start-up was acquired. She’s being replaced by Thomas Kurian, who was previously president of Oracle.
What do you think kurians TC is?
More than 🌲 fiddy fosho
FoSho. His Oracle TC was > 200 * 🌲 fiddy. Imagine he is getting a raise? Source: https://www1.salary.com/Thomas-Kurian-Salary-Bonus-Stock-Options-for-Oracle-Corp.html
Oracle? I’d be asking what does this mean for google!
TK = Total Kompensation
TK ran us into a glacier, drilled a bunch of holes in the hull, set fire to the deck, and was finally kicked out.
Sounds like Kurian’s vision of cloud is matching up with Google’s. Not sure how that bodes for OCI though as the rumor was his leaving was due to his vision and Ellison’s not matching.
Kurian doesn’t have a cloud vision - he’s clueless. I am Kurious how will this work out for google....
Yes. Kurian is clueless! I'm very surprised with GCP's decision. Time will tell but I suspect this won't bode well for GCP.
FYI, TK = Travis Kalanick
