I'm not interested in moving back to India. Thanks to pollution, corruption and ugly political scenario. With GC for Indians taking several decades to clear, I'm considering to move elsewhere. Canada is one good alternative. I'm also interested in Australia. Which US tech companies have reasonable engineering presence in Australia?
Don’t go to Australia. It’s almost entirely project/contract jobs in tech. There are still some big American tech firms there, but your options with jobs are far fewer. I also recommend Canada.
I remeber I applied Stripe last year and the recruiter got back to me like in 4 months. LOL.
DO NOT COME TO AUSTRALIA
I know of a lot of people who immigrated to Canada and became citizens! Go figure. We need to fix this broken system
Good quality of life but not a lot of good tech jobs. If you wanna start a family or just take it easy and enjoy life, go for it.
What would I do for living?
No you can get a tech job, but it won't be a tech company.
LETS ALL MOVE TO AUSTRALIA
noooooooooo
Don't come, we are the first, it's already occupied . Or I move back to India and find a wife
We're full.
Get off my land.
Build a north coast reef wall! And make the aboriginals pay for it!
What's the motivation to go to Australia? Like how do you arrive at a random choice like that? Did you throw darts on a map?
There's only so many English speaking nations and even less that are known for sponsoring tech workers.
Yeah but why would you go to a mining and tourism dependent economy. Like... What would you do for work for the next 50 years?
One of my friend did.. he is happy in Sydney
What does he do for work, and what's the pay like?
My TC is about 130 USD as an swe w/ 10+ yrs. But cost of living is probably a third of bay area in Melbourne. And it's pretty, clean, safe and we have about 20x more shops, bars and restaurants.
Isn't GC (green card) a good GC (garbage collector)
GC is like fantasy for many. WTF I never understood
Looked at Canada. The number of jobs are quite less. A rudimentary job check on major giants website is like this. If 100 jobs for the US, 10 for India, 1 in Canada. I maybe wrong but this is what I felt
I think you meant to say “very less”
Indians population is also 100 times bigger
