Candidate M offered for bing related team in India given a very low ball offer L62, lower in base salary than previous employer (amazon) and practically no hike in TC. Candidate W offered for Skype (not 100% sure) related team in India given L62 offer with base very close to L63. Got a decent hike of 20% over previous employer (some startup). What all could cause this disparity? Gender of M=man / W=woman? Team? Team's allocated budget? Performance in interview? Hiring manager? Previous employer?
W probably performed very well in interview, close to the L63 bar.
This. Compensation for a level is usually a large range, with high 62 having an overlap with low 63. W did really well and it's possible that the pipeline for the Skype roll was shorter than the other role
I got an offer of 26L base and 30k USD stocks over 4years, target bonus between 10-20% base joining bonus of 5L, was placed as a L62, how does your 'friend's' offer compare to that?
