What's the most frustrating aspect of your current role as a digital marketer? For me, it's lack of strategic vision for omni channel. I'm in the Fin Serv/Ins vertical.
Still trying to convince clients the importance of simple remarketing and buying brand terms
dealing with clients that hired me to be the pro and then tell me how to do it lol
:-( day in and day out
Oh holy hell... This. So much this.
reporting dahboards filled with metrics that don't really matter to please execs
People not understanding cost curves or measurement. Thinking retargeting is a great investment.
Teaching baby boomers about how computers work.
😂😂
The realest struggle of all
Having to explain to execs why they didn't see our ad when they googled our brand name that one time - auction-based and adaptive ads are lost on some people
marketers thinking an email address is a relationship
lol'd
Agencies that are supposed to be experts on digital marketing not actually being well versed in the platform at all. This largely from traditional agencies trying and failing to pivot.
And we still use them...and pay them ridiculous amounts of money that I so wish they'd invest on an in-house team.
Assuming organic search results/SEO are good enough and not providing budget to do any paid marketing. Expensed my own money in the startup I worked at.
