Digital Marketing Interview Advice

I have been applying (no referrals) to Digital Marketing positions for the past 120 days and often made it to second round interviews. I have been unsuccessful at landing a full time role, but I always look to see who was hired for positions. It seems that my skills and abilities are being overlooked for seasoned marketers who lack the technical skills of the position . I audit the companies website/marketing for most of the interviews and let them know of some of the issues. Common responses are "we know, we are looking to fix it". Weeks after the new hire is made, these simple errors such as a broken link or contact form that doesn't work are still present. The job description includes creating marketing campaigns, landing pages, copywriting, and managing the user experience to increase online revenue. Any advice on interviewing for Digital Marketing roles ? The hiring manager, and decision makers may not understand code, design, and how much digital evolves daily. I mostly focus on the technology and how-to of digital marketing. Should I shift my talking points ? I am looking for roles in NYC, how would you recommend I get referrals if I don't know anyone at these companies ?

If you have any case studies, content that you have written or examples of you leading digital marketing somewhere that succeeded would all help. Present yourself well. Be confident in your skillset, but not to confident that you come across as a "know-it-all". Be conscious that some of the things that you may point out might look simple looking from the outside in, but could take months in a dev cycle to fix. Recommend ideas, rather than tools. High level strategy rather than tactical fixes. Remember a lot of companies hire the person more than the skillset. Review the company culture and be yourself. Make a friend in the interview. Some of the best ones I have ever had, we did more talking about life and way of working then about the actual job they were hiring me to job. Let your resume sell you skills, you sell yourself.

I tend to talk about recent projects I have lead and how it was accomplished. I usually don't even think about the company culture, high level strategies, or myself. Thanks for the advice

At $85 LTV, what’s the top CPC you can afford with AdWords or top CPM with FB? What else do you need to know to figure this out? If you can’t answer this question or give me a gibberish answer, I’ll never hire you.
