How can one find director level job as a tech product manager / program manager in FAANG companies. Job postings in their career sites and LinkedIn etc only show entry levels
Do you see jobs that are titled principal? Usually that's the same level with a different title
So principal program managers have direct reports?
Some do.. For managers of people it's usually something like principal pm lead or group program manager
Lol
Network, that is almost the only way, unless the very very rare director job posting written word for word from your resume
Keep in mind most directors at fb (and likely google?) were vps at their former companies
Sizeable companies like MySpace? Did you hire tom?
Not sure if this is purely a joke about MySpace or if you doubt that high level execs are now directors at fb. I know several that were VPs or EVPs at large tech companies (though not fang)
A little bit of both TBH. Mostly surprised because one of our principal design leads just took a director role over at fb. And while i love the guy, he's not vp caliber.. By a long shot
Levels at GE != levels at FANG. Forget FANG, levels at GE map much lower to most other companies.
Yes, exactly this.
Are you really expecting job openings on LinkedIn / Indeed for Director level role in FAANG? And then you gonna apply and expect for an interview? Lol, c'mon.. People at that caliber don't apply, companies reach out to them.. same goes for any good engineers who have quality exp not just year count...
