Discovery Inc Offer SDEII- level down from SDE III.

I thought i performed really well at the interview, Received a verbal offer from discovery, inc for SDE II instead, interviewed for SDEIII. The recruiter keeps saying SDEIII at discovery is like Principal at other companies :/. Says the max-comp they will go to is 250k.

7 years Experience, already at Senior level.
Current comp at 250k.

Is this even worth taking or negotiating ? , has anyone else experienced this, any advice would be really appreciated.

    Definitely no. Why would anyone want to take a paycut to join a mediocre company

      I work on a more stale stack right now, i was hoping to learn more from this position. They are getting into the streaming space, this might actually give me a lot of opportunity to learn.
