Just had a recruiter reach out from Disney Streaming Services for a remote job. I haven’t responded yet, but wanted to see if anyone has any inside info on the team as well as TC expectations for Senior Software Engineer. Thanks!
Disney pays really low but awesome projects and company
What’s really low? Remote job sounds fantastic to me
Like $100-$125k...also they don’t offer RSUs Source: I worked there for 5 years after college but not a developer. Comp above is a guess
Low pay for engineers but fantastic wlb
What is low pay to you? Capital One isn’t exactly making it rain either
80k - 150k TC for engineers, hard to grow because people rarely leave the Disney umbrella
Also double check it isn't a contract position. Disney hires more contractors than not.
Will do thanks
Just fucking interview and see what the offer looks like.
Disney does staff cuts every so often also. They are lower end of pay scale too.
I've had recruiters from Disney reach out a couple times for Senior Eng positions on LinkedIn; not remote, though. They were quoting 160k+ upfront (in the job description), which is better than what other people here are describing, but is at best mid-tier by LA standards, and contract-to-hire to boot.
I’m definitely not interested in contract-to-hire thanks for the heads up.
Sounds like a cool job and it's actually remote
What's your TC at C1? The TC at DSS isn't Hulu level but it's close. I saw a senior engineer get a 225k offer from Disney Streaming Services.
150K to 180K.
Don’t do it
Uh oh why not?
If you are joining dss. Things will change tech wise now that Hulu is under Disney.
