Dissatisfied in role, let skip or boss know?

My skip has a reoccurring invite with me. Should I let them know I'm dissatisfied or passively imply interest in other teams? Not super happy in my role, but no idea how it can change. It's more of a support role. The skip and my boss are buddies and hang out outside of work.

My issues: boss does not help or unblock me or throws it back to me to figure it out since I'm "senior enough", frequently tries to "out do" me in meetings by showcasing his knowledge publicly (whereas when I disagree with him, I do it privately). Claims to be there for me and he can "help" with my career progression but shoots down my interests.

Maybe I need to leave Yahoo? Not a lot of options around here, everywhere is a landmine with either toxic managers or potential departments to be laid off.

Talking to the skip without having an external offer at hand sounds like a dumb idea.

so what should I do with my 1:1 with skip? They scheduled it (I think just to check on everyone), if they ask how I'm doing should I smile and tell them all is good?

Talk about projects you work on and mention you are interested in taking on more opportunities, maybe ask about how to move to management etc.
