Spoke to someone today and this individual said that nearly half of their “diverse” candidates get hired. I challenged the person on that and told her I would show her my data about conversion rates of diverse candidates in the tech industry —conversion rates meaning what population of the diverse labor population get hired at high tech companies—if she showed me hers. And she rebutted by saying that it’s confidential info. (Talk about eye roll.) Can anyone at Facebook validate this claim that half of their diverse candidate pool get hired. Because the stats about the industry are a total 180 to this person’s claim.
fuck off buzzfeed
No fucking way
Impossible, Facebook is not diverse at all.
Facebook is like 80% Asian/white, what are you even saying right now?
Over 60% of candidates that chose to identify as a minority group do get hired. FB is leading the way, I dont understand the hate. When minority candidates make up less than 20% of applications you receive you cant expect the candidates to make up 90% of the workforce. FB has made great strides no longer only employing asians and indians
All the interns are diversity candidates

Not even fucking close. Our diversity report comes out this week and it’ll be the same dismal ass numbers it’s been the past 5 year. Lol No movement. But it’s worth noting that FB considers women, vets, people who identify as LGBTQ and people with disabilities “diversity” hires so I guess if you count ALL those people you could get skewed results that say we hire half of “diversity” candidates.
Why do you think the numbers are dismal? Is there any particular reason why Facebook development should attract, and be a match for, every group to the same exact degree, and Facebook workforce should mimic the demographics across the entire US?
Because they are. Lol And I don’t think Facebook has to do anything, I’m just tired of hearing the company talk about it every five seconds like they’re doing something unique. We’re not. Same demos as most companies and the “diversity” numbers don’t change. Lol
