Hello guys. Just got a few emails from recruiters for a SE position at Multichannel advertising under Amazon Ads org. Location - Seattle

Can folks from Amazon ads give me some insights regarding WLB, culture and work quality in this team? Good teams to look for and bad teams to avoid?

I know that not all teams in Amazon are bad and some of the blind posts are a bit exaggerated.

Sorry for the repost - didn’t get many responses for my previous post. Please, no troll answers. Let’s help each other.

What's your YOE? Teams are hit or miss, but usually ads tech is newer technology which is cool but can mean steeper onboarding (Amazon is not great with onboarding more so sink or swim).

If you have experience with AWS that's an added bonus.

I work in Amazon direct ads org and I like it. Been interviewing recently but that's more so for TC than WLB. Manager makes the biggest difference, if you don't like them don't join. I'd also ask the hiring manager how much attrition the team is having, I've been at Amazon for a year and am the most tenured person on my immediate team n

Thanks, btw if you have any questions about Azure, feel free to DM. But, I do see that you’re not interested in Microsoft right now.

Full disclosure, I’m thinking of giving Amazon interviews just as a practice. TC at Microsoft is 🥜. This is the only motivation :)

Yeah do it just for the experience or potential opportunity. Just keep in mind with Amazon interviews they put a heavy emphasis on their leadership principles
