Do you need a visa to work for a US company in one of their EU offices? Assumptions: -have only US citizenship. -employer doesn't care where you work from. -EU country gives you permit to reside there (or does that even matter?)
If US requires work visa for citizens of that particular country, you usually need visa to work in the office of that company. Company usually takes care when it needs and pays for it.
I had to get a visa to work in the Netherlands, it was easy to get though.
Yes of course.
Assumption is that the country gives you a visa, and the question is do you need another one?
Isn't residence is disentangle from employment? From my understanding, it is much easier to obtain legal residence in a country than the right to work in the country. But maybe I'm wrong.
Usually residency implies that you can work there. If you have a work visa, you don’t necessarily have permanent residence in that country.
