Was watching Bulge Bracket, and the last scene seemed to imply this. Also how does IB comp stack against tech?

IB /finance scales faster than anything besides owning a biz. Analysts who start off in IB leave to better things after 2-3 years. I was 140-160k at a BB as an analyst, then 310k as an associate in PE at 25. Now at 700k at 30. Keep in mind you give up the first 4-5 years of your life

You give up your life in med school and residency as well which is at least 7-10 years AFTER undergrad

$700k at age 30 is pretty inline with tech if you promote to L6, which many will. My boss is L8 at age 31 and pulling about $1.35m a year. And there was not a single year of life thrown away...

Associates likely make more than average surgeons. Had a friend who works in Evercore and makes close to 500 as an associate from what I can tell which is more than a general surgeon. A specialist surgeon may make more but VP in IB probably beats that

Entry level engineers straight out of college make 200k. By 25, they should be making 400k plus especially with stock appreciation.

Analysts typically turn into associates also around 25 years of age. They start making around 250k to 350k if they're lucky. Although, keep in mind that they work 100 hour weeks on the regular and sacrifice health and social life for their professions. Whereas engineers typically have much better wlb and office perks. Engineers also have way better exit opportunities.

Agreed Facebook. Engineers generally don’t need to “exit” while IB analyst retention to associate is only like 20% on the street.

Exit ops for IB is much better than you are making it out to be. I mean the Corp strategy statement is flat out wrong, you can go to f50 Corp strategy right out if IB, they list it along side MBB in preferred qualifications. Also, your comp argument is STONKS ONLY GO UP. Don't mistake the bull market for normal.
