I saw a video in YouTube by Deniz Sasal where he claims that there are all fake interviews and fake positions. Could this be true?
The title is "You didn't fail that job interview - they scammed you". Sounds like a way to make an excuse up so you don't own up to the fact that you failed the interview.
Small boutique consulting companies do conduct fake interviews In fact they will present project scenario by calling it hypothetical and collect solution design feedbacks Then they disappear and if asked what next, they will say position is on hold
No big company does this. It would be a massive waste of our employees time.
Do you believe HR cares about employees time?
Uh - at the companies I’ve been at, the dev orgs control our interviewing time. And yes - devs time costs like 10x the hr people and if HR wasted too much of our time they’d have problems.
Corporate espionage can happen this way. If a company that competes directly with your company dangles positions and comp that is too good to be true, beware. This is particularly true if the other company is, ahem, Chinese. Interview questions may come such as "tell me about the most important project you worked on recently", "can you show me how it's designed", and other answers. They may not actually be hiring, just collecting competitive data.
I believe this is true. Corp espionage, HR doing busy work, companies creating perception of growth when they’re not doing so well, and building a case to promote an internal hire are all real world situations. Hope there is a class action lawsuit at some point forcing companies to show these are real positions because this should be considered employment fraud.
In the era of fake tits everything is possible
