Do companies have general SWE roles for full time positions?
By generalist, I mean that the job posting doesn't require experience using any specific tech stack, language or framework. i.e. the way internships and new grad postings are - just requiring a general understanding of computer science and experience programming.
I'm a student/intern and I noticed that the vast majority of industry hire SWE job postings at tech companies require a specific skillset (i.e. 2 years of experience with Android dev). I've specifically sought out generalist job postings and have found them to be few and far between.
I imagine it must be so tedious to find the job that matches your specific skillset out of the hundreds of postings at companies like Google, FB, Twitter, etc. I've heard that Google has team matching and FB has bootcamp but then why do most of the postings I've seen seem like they're hiring for a specific team?
Or do you guys all just wait for recruiters to contact you rather than dig through job postings?

(Disclaimer: Big places care for niches sometimes. Our kernel dev team at AWS really needed C, for obvious reasons.)
