Do not join IBM if you require visa sponsorship in usa
Just putting this out here so when people search for ibm they'll know. So please join any other tech company if you're on visa. They'll completely screw up your i140 process and you'll have to beg for the process to be even started. Even after that it's so slow, takes them 3 years because they buy lowest tier of fragomen services. Hope this helps someone :) #workvisa #greencard

Yeah h1b process is relatively smooth but gc isn't.
I forgot to mention that ibm makes you sign a document where you're liable to pay all the expenses for your gc if you leave them/get fired, laid off etc.
I am surprised ibm has engineers on the good ole USA 🇺🇸. Didn’t they offshore the majority to India 🇮🇳 ?
Well ibm still has great tech talent in areas where business is good but because of shit like this they're losing people rapidly, especially this year
Things definitely depend on your management chain. My GC process was started by my previous manager but I have heard that my current manager kept delaying it for others. And I did face all kinds of issues with fragomen from screwing up my application to not responding to my emails for months, even escalations!
They'll give generic replies with escalations like "we are working on it" after 2 months lol pathetic. This is because ibm buys lowest tier of fragomen services. Fragomen had a seminar in which they confirmed that indeed ibm pays them lowest.
My friend is working for a desi consulting company on H1B first year for 100k and got a job offer from IBM/Kyndryl for 130k with band 8. His current employer is ready to sponsor I-140. How will be the PERM process in IBM/Kyndryl. will they sponsor I-140 immediately after H1B transfer or will they wait for 3 years to complete out of 6 years of H1B to hold the employee? How long will it take for the Fragomen PERM process to be complete for IBM ,as I heard IBM doest pay well to Fragomen. pls suggest is it better to continue with his current employer or move to IBM

That's a good idea in general but sometimes people on visa don't have much choice, so even for them i am putting this out there. Ibm can pay well depending on other offers but this issue still exists
