Does age and experience play a factor in your decision making?
There is no such thing as happiness in the workplace.
Ouch
One train of thought...
I pass by many homeless on the streets everyday. (Not Bay Area). It motivates me everyday to quit my job and join their ranks
Can't tell if this was in bad taste 😒
I have 20+ YOE and still have to work hard to pay bills and for 2 colleges. I am leaving for more TC in a couple of weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy I can pull it off.
The only way to truly chase happiness is to quit and work for yourself.
Tried that one - it’s just chasing stress in the hopes of one day, in the distant future, getting more TC than everyone else
Both
Both and yes. Know how much is enough, have a plan for what financial independence looks like for you personally, know how much bullshit is too much. If you're financially responsible for others, that'll be a big factor.
I chase TC at work and happiness at home (and no these are not mutually exclusive goals).
F5 Networks doesn't provide good hikes internally. Externally also I have seen the same. They were low balling when they sent me the offer.
I chase happiness; therefore, I chase TC.
