Consumer internet startups are cool and all... But do you expect hardware startups anywhere outside US, China, Israel anytime soon? (Server components, FPGAs, memory, storage, switches and the like...) I'd move back to Bangalore in a heartbeat if there's any startup thats lower down than delivering stuff via Android app? Anyone else have similar interests?
I think it's a question of time until the first hw startup emerges if more hw companies are moving design centers to India. The know-how transfer will build up to the point where people will come up with their own solutions. The thing is there aren't as many hw companies as sw. The big ones like Intel and Cisco already have a big presence there.
Are you kidding? There have been several HW startups in India since the 90s. Checkout Ittiam Systems, Tejas networks, Plutus Research. Google / LinkedIn is your friend to find more.
I think plutus research is Quant firm
I believe they also were building FPGAs to accelerate their trading algos
Common.... Indians are good at playing office politics but honestly building their own startup is not what they are good at.
So you started flipkart then?
Also, common != "come on" ffs
